Think Tank Airport SecurityV3 - A Packing Video
It was rightly pointed out here on UA-cam that my packing videos were way outta date so ... here's the first updated packing video. Mirrorless, projects and age have both changed how I pack my bags. We all have different gear, different projects and different modes of transportation. Take what is here and apply what parts of it works for you and you'll have the best system. @BedfordCamera @nikonusa @ThinkTankPhoto @MoosePeterson

A moose here in Madera Canyon?! Wow - oh, a birder named “Moose.” Now it makes sense. Love our birds. Here in Pima County, NW of Tucson, I see Anna’s and Costa’s hummingbirds, Gila woodpeckers, three kinds of doves, and even scarlet tanagers. Now shabby for an urban setting

Excellent advice. As for knuckles, the naming origin I suspect can be found in (even your own) the use of the word 'joints' for the segment dividers of the tripod legs -- look at a finger on your hand and see the knuckles marking each joint in the finger. Cheers!

Thank for clearing up my confusion. 🙂

In my small photographer circle, I know two who hold the camera by the tripod foot. I never really understand the point, primarily for the points you mentioned: it's harder to hold the lens steady, and you don't have access to the controls on the lens. For me, that foot has one purpose: to attach the camera to a tripod. If I'm not using a tripod, I take the foot off the lens and store it on the tripod. It saves a little weight and keeps it out of the way. So, yeah, basically everything you just said.

I often nudge the AP or zoom ring, generating an EE code when I've just hit the AF button. Loving my DF all the same, the manual controls make it real simple to learn on! Just have to figure out what I could use the priority modes for and how... I'm stuck on M mode and switchable auto eyesso!

Thanks Moose. I move the foot to approx 45 degree (from the bottom) on the left side. Then the foot and bottom of the lens barrel are on the same plane (underneath). Makes for a much bigger "platform" to rest in my hand. Just another way to hang on to the heavier glass.
